The Outline

The Plan

Sept 3:
Departure from Ottawa for an overnight flight to Zagreb.

Sept 4:
A chance to catch our breath as we overnight in the capital of Zagreb.

Sept 5:
A short flight from Zagreb to Split, where we transfer to a bus for the 40 minute ride to the Sunsail base in Marina Kremik. (www.marina-kremik.hr)  Board the boats for 6 pm. Dinner that night in the marina complex.

Sept 6:
Boat Check outs, provisioning trip and our departure from the base.

Sept 7 to 17:
Our cruising playground will range northward to the southern tip of Dugi Otok  and southward to the islands of Vis and Hvar.  There will be a side trip into the Krka Estuary and National Park(www.npkrka.hr) to visit the beautiful Krka Waterfalls, during our stop at Skradin.  Explore and sail through the Kornati Archipelago and National Park(www.kornati.hr) which is the densest group of islands in the Mediterranean and there are 152 islands, islets and rocks.  As we travel up and down the coast we will be able to enjoy a mix of anchoring under the stars in secluded bays, the comforts and facilities of full service government owned marinas (www.aci-club.hr) or mooring off the town sea wall.

Sept 18:
Allowing for an easy morning, we will make our final passage back to Marina Kremik. Skippers will need to complete their end of charter paperwork as we start packing up. We will celebrate the end of the trip at a near by restaurant and sleep aboard Friday night.

Sept 19:
Disembarkation and farewell at 9:00 am. Bus ride back to the Split airport for our flight back to Zagreb to enjoy our last night back in the capital.

Sept 20:
Departure for the airport. Our time has come to a close on another flotilla adventure, as we fly back to Canada.

The Yachts

The flotilla will feature Beneteau Oceanis yachts.

The yachts feature GPS, CD stereo, bimini, dodger, autopilot and motorized inflatable. Headsails are furling gear with mains being either in-mast furling or jiffy slab reefing.  All yachts meet the safety standards required by Croatian maritime law. Emergency life rafts, life jackets, first-aid kits and the standard safety equipment for sailboats are all part of the inventory.

Pricing

Boat
$2,150.00 CDN per person based on double occupancy.
$2,850.00 CDN per person based on single occupancy.  (A single supplement of $700.00 CDN is included.)
A deposit of $800 per person is required upon booking.
Deposit is non-refundable.
Balance due June 30, 2009.
Cheque, cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted though Ottawa Sailing School.

Flotilla Cancellation Policy
·  $500 penalty for cancellation up to 90 days prior to departure date
·  75% penalty of holiday cost for cancellation 60 days prior to departure date
·  100% penalty for cancellation within 45 days of departure date

Flights/Hotel/Transfers and Insurance
$2,180.00 per person which includes all flights, transfers and 2 nights hotel. 
Optional –Trip Cancellation & Health Insurance packages are available. 
A full package starts at $294.00 CDN per person (taxes included).
Deposit for flight is required upon booking.  Trip insurance must be purchased in full at the time of booking your airline ticket.  Method of payment is all major credit cards through Travel Away Inc.

Extras
Boat Kitty - to cover the provisioning, harbour fees, National Park fees, Water tank fill-ups, Boat Fuel re-fills
Personal Spending - Meals ashore, Tour fees, Museum fees, a car or scooter rental
Budget for the whole trip is approximately $6, 000.00 CDN per person.

All prices in Canadian funds. Prices are subject to boat availability.

We strongly recommend that students purchase our comprehensive Trip/Health Insurance coverage for an additional fee. Coverage must be requested and is available when booking your flights through us.

Provisioning is the responsibility of each boat.
